The Academy's Clinical Day Program offers ESY services for students in grades 1 - 8.
Extended School Year (ESY) is special education and related services provided beyond
the regular 180-day school year of the public school district. A child’s IEP Team
determines on an individual basis, whether or not special education and/or related
service(s) are necessary beyond the regular school year in order for the child to receive
a Free Appropriate Public Education. The IEP Team decision for extended school year services is based upon the unique
needs of a child with a disability and the Rhode Island Department of Education
Standard for ESY. When an IEP Team determines that Extended School Year services
are needed, the services are documented in the child’s IEP and made available at no
cost to the parents of or the student with a disability.
Our ESY program is located at the main campus building and runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:15 - 11:45 for 5 weeks during July and August.
